Dr. Penewit’s library

Welcome to Dr W. H. Penewit’s library

I have been asked quite frequently what books I am reading or what books I would recommend to my colleagues.

The following list is by no means exhaustive, but are the “primary readers” that I suggest any therapist should have in their library.

The Believers Authority

by Kenneth E. Hagin

Authority over satan is part of what makes us Christians, and learning how to exercise our authority is basic training

Overcoming Rejection

By Frank Hammond

I have  recommended  this book to my colleagues quite frequently.

REJECTION is one of the most common, inner wounds. It can occur at any stage in life, from the time of conception through adulthood.

Rejection is one of the most neglected wounds within a person’s soul.

As a therapist, you will deal with the spirit of rejection with every case you encounter.

Soul Ties

By Frank Hammond

(the following is an excerpt from his book. However, My wife and I can bear witness to the validity of soul ties and the necessity of understanding them)

EXPANDED EDITION 2019 There are good soul ties and bad soul ties, just as there are healthy relationships and unhealthy ones.

My wife and I dealt with soul ties, through the ministry of deliverance, long before we had much understanding of them.

In fact, long before someone introduced the designation soul ties, we referred to them as unholy alliances or perverse relationships.

Through the deliverance ministry, soul ties are encountered regularly and their power over individuals lives needs to be broken.

Yes, soul ties are real, but what are they? What is the scriptural basis for understanding soul ties? How are they formed?

Are they always demonic? What danger is there in soul ties?

How can they be broken? Frank Hammond explains the root causes of these ties and how to distinguish between righteous, Godly ties, and demonically-inspired, unrighteous ties to the soul.

In this Expanded Edition, Frank Hammond includes a Declaration of Freedom from demonic soul ties, and a Deliverance Prayer to break their power over the readers life.

Pigs in The Parlor

By Frank Hammond

This book is the “primer” for all of the books Frank Hammond has penned.

This book will open your eyes concerning demonic activity in individuals and relationships.

A “must have” for any therapist

“Pigs in the Parlor remains the authoritative book on the subject of demons and deliverance”

The Hammonds also present a categorized and detailed list of 53 Demonic Groupings, including various behavior patterns and addictions.

Breaking Curses

By Frank Hammond

As a doctor in the Word of faith based mental health field, this book has answered many unanswered questions with patients as well as myself.

Curse are real and understanding what they are and how they operate will help in any practice.

The Discerning of Spirits

By Frank Hammond

This book is self explanatory…it teaches us to recognize spirits and how they affect an individual or family.

I have used this book frequently.

Confronting Familiar Spirits

By Frank Hammond

In my practice I deal more and more with patients who are involved in astrology, “spirit guides (also knows as spirit animals), fortune tellers and palm readers.

this list goes on and on.  As Christian Therapists, when dealing with these demonic forces it is paramount that we learn about

“familiar spirits and the roll that they play in peoples lives. Familiar spirits more prevalent than you may think.

Spirit Wars

By Kris Vallotton

I have recommended this book to patients who may be unaware of the daily activity in the spirit realm.

He helps them understand that there are reasons “why” things happen in their lives and that they are not helpless.

For my patients this book is a real “eye opener”

By Dr Henry Cloud and Dr John Townsend

This book is required reading for my Supine patients. The book will teach you the “logic” in learning how to set Godly boundaries in your life
