The Marriage success you don’t see. Unlocking the prize Part 3

The Marriage success you don’t see. Unlocking the prize Part 3 Why even try to unlock “The Prize”? Let’s look at why Paul did it:

23 All this I do for the gospel’s sake, in order to share in its blessings. 24 Surely you know that many runners take part in a race, but only one of them wins the prize. Run, then, in such a way as to win the prize. 25 Every athlete in training submits to strict discipline, in order to be crowned with a wreath that will not last; but we do it for one that will last forever. 26 That is why I run straight for the finish line; that is why I am like a boxer who does not waste his punches. 27 I harden my body with blows and bring it under complete control, to keep myself from being disqualified after having called others to the contest.

Let’s define what “the prize” is.

  • It’s being in “synch” with your mate
  • It’s being “at peace” with your mate. If you truly want to be around your mate and they want to be around you, you will work as a team and the “fringe benefits” will come out easily.
  • It’s being “in love” with your mate so that you can “bear their burdens” easily and willingly. (Galatians 6:2)
  • It’s wanting to care for your mate and ensure that they have whatever they need or want. (Eph 5:25-33)

“Unlocking” your mate is what I’m going to be teaching about during the next few blogs.  What can we compare to the “unlocking of your mate”?

It’s like going to the doughnut shop and getting a vanilla cream center doughnut and eating until you get to that creme center.

That taste is worth the trip right? Part 4 is coming in a few days where we will learn step by step how to “get to that creme center”
