Forgiveness sets YOU free Part 2

Forgiveness sets YOU free Part 2

Forgiveness sets YOU free Part 2 of a series

In part 1 of this series we’ve been discussing the difficulty in a relationship where each party feels wronged

and won’t seek forgiveness.

After all you didnt do anything wrong that you need to ask forgiveness…the other person did!

And yet you are feeling just as bad as the other person…

so what can you do to free yourself from all of this?

Forgiveness sets YOU free Part 2 What Paul has to say about this

We’ve been reading what Paul said in Romans 12:…so lets pick up where we left off

15 Rejoice with those who rejoice [sharing others’ joy], and weep with those who weep [sharing others’ grief].

Paul learned to share in “the other persons” sorrows and joys…in other words…

he was the solution to their problems and not the source of them.

What we can take from this is that “empathy” will get you places with other people…they want you to understand

THEIR pain…and it may seem that they don’t care about your pain, so thinking within your mind

“WELL WHAT ABOUT ME”??? will cause the relationship to explode with a force that may harm the relationship for good

16 Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty [conceited, self-important, exclusive], but associate with humble people [those with a realistic self-view]. Do not overestimate yourself.

This is where we all seem to fall flat on our faces from time to time…

and if you have DON’T SWEAT IT!!! God will pick you back up and set you on your way

Here’s how to do it:

Learn to get rid of the “what about me” syndrome.

I realize that you are hurt…you may think that no one cares about you or how hurt you are.

What I will show you is how to “remove yourself” from this mess that you are in.

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty [conceited, self-important, exclusive],

This is were the trouble begins…if we believe that our feelings and hurts are more important than others

and your mate feels the same way then we have what we call here in Texas a “Texas standoff”

So is there that “first step” that we can take to get ourselves out of this?

YES!
