we try to place God and counseling in this reality…why is it so difficult?
Our Perception of God
God is without limits…his wisdom goes on forever…he is everywhere all at the same time.
If we read about his throne in the book of Revelation it is beyond measure…lets look at a few passages
Rev 4: 5 Out from the throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God; 6 and before the throne there was something like a sea of glass, like crystal; and in the [c]center and around the throne, four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind.
the list goes on and it shows God as being bigger and more powerful than we could ever imagine.
Even as Christians we tend to see God as unapproachable so we fail to understand that even though we know he is a loving God we cant “bother him ” with trivial things.
The reality of God
So why not ask god to give you ideas about your problems? It snit so far fetched as you think!
Remember that Jesus bridged that gap so that God is as approachable as your best friend. Have yo ever sat down in your favorite coffee shop with a friend and just talked?
What did you talk about? Possibly about the weather…catching up on how things are going in your lives…and most likely PERSONAL THINGS.
So lets get into these personal things for a moment…can you approach God with problems about your sex life? Perhaps you are having trouble pleasing your husband/wife sexually and need some good advice?
Could you ask God’s help with your sexual technique? After all he created your mate and knows them inside out! If anyone could give you advice on how to please your mate sexually it’s God!
