Overcoming Guilt in your life

Dr. W.H. Penewit

Overcoming Guilt Overcoming guilt is a challenge right from the start.

Guilt is a tool that our parents may have used when we were children,

and that “tool” always seems to stick with us,

but guilt will eventually rob us of our creativity and ability to love at even the basic levels.

Guilt shouldn’t have a hold in the life of a Christian at all. Paul tells us why:

Romans 8:8 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Guilt is BONDAGE plain and simple because as Christians we are set free from sin or condemnation of ANY kind.

Overcoming guilt …How Guilt can hurt you

If I were to ask you the question “how does guilt make you feel about yourself” how would you answer?

When we feel guilty about something we feel;

  • Broken Here’s what The Bible says: Is 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; <—–Jesus was brokenfor you so you are whole!
  • Unworthy Here’s what The Bible says: Colossians 1:13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.  Colossians 1:22 yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach <——– Did you just read this? God has made you beyond reproach…this means that you will NEVER be unworthy
  • Rejected  Here’s what the Bible says: Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness; Jesus suffered the ultimate rejection on the cross.

So you can see that God never meant for you to feel broken, unworthy or rejected.

If you feel this way the most successful way to heal is through your Temperament.

Once we know this we can work toward peace in your life so lets get started
