Finding Godly wisdom in your marriage Part 1
There are many ways to find wisdom in this world. Much of the wisdom that you will find will be dark knowledge… meaning it’s really not worth much if you’re trying to live a Godly life and Break Free from all the emotional and spiritual trash that exist. But what about wisdom in your marriage?
The question is, where do you find wisdom if you are seeking to live a Godly life in your marriage? If you look on the internet you will find many counseling centers that claim to be Christian Counseling centers. But are they?
Quite often we have individuals come into our office who have been harmed by people who claimed to be Christian counselors but really were not. Are you seeking wisdom in your marriage?
At The Penewit Center we take issue with that because we want to only present the word of God as it relates to an individual or couple.
I’m reminded of a verse of scripture in Proverbs chapter 24 starting at verse 3 that says
“by wisdom a house is built and by understanding it is established and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.”
So if you are seeking wisdom in your marriage you are headed in the right direction.
Why does it seem so difficult to achieve this knowledge? Or where to look for this knowledge?
Go to the Bible and look, but so often you look at the pages and you read them but you see nothing. Wisdom doesn’t seem to be there…but it’s full of wisdom. I can point you in the right direction.
The word of God has many blessings and many warnings for mankind but to me it is a head-scratcher as to why man doesn’t see it.
I read from Ecclesiastes chapter 9 verse 9 that says
“enjoy life with a woman whom you love all the days of your fleeting life which he has given you under the sun for this is your reward in life and your toil and which you have labored under the sun.“
In Proverbs Chapter 7 he talks about the wickedness of the prostitute. He talks about how a prostitute will lure an unsuspecting man into her Lair and destroy him. We see these things in the word of God and yet I can tell you that in counseling adultery and fornication are the things that we deal with the most.
So the question is if you are a man or a woman who says within themselves my marriage is going to be a Godly marriage no matter what! Then as soon as you step out the door of your house you realize what you are up against. So what do you do? Where do you go for answers?
Stay tuned for part 2 coming this Friday, I will lead you in the right direction to find these answers.
