Just as Christ also loved the church…Does this verse of scripture sound familiar? It should…
I’ll put the entire verse here so you will recognize it.
Ephesians 6:25 “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her“,
We’ve all read this before but I want to explain it in terms that you’ll understand easier.
Lets look at verse 26 “so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,”
So what does this mean…and how does the husband fit into all of this?
Look at what Jesus did for the church and what the result was…
Jesus gave himself up to the church so it could be what it is today.
How the husband is “Christ like”
Husbands accomplish this by a love marked by giving, not getting
Husbands who seek to give The Word (The Bible) to their wives through
reading The Bible to them daily, teaching and explaining it to them.
The result?
In my practice, I’ve rarely met a wife who didn’t want her husband to read The Bible to her.
It’s almost instinctive for a wife to desire her husbands teaching.
When she gets this word implanted into her by her husband…good things will result.
It’s like a husband planting his seed into his wive and 9 months later she has a baby.
Planting The Word into your wife will have the same result.
